Amethyst, graph-first notes for Mac NOTES as a sky

Amethyst opens a folder of markdown and draws every wikilink as a line of light. Obsidian vaults work as they are. Nothing leaves the machine.

3 ways the same notes can be coloured

A note is a star. A wikilink is a line between two of them. Notes that cite each other gather into a constellation named after the hub at its centre.

The index stays on the Mac. No account, no AI, no telemetry. Amethyst never writes into .obsidian.

LOOK, before you read.

The nebula, the mineral, and a chart from 1660. The fourth card is the sample vault, and it answers.

03 Approach

A folder of markdown becomes a sky you can fly. The order is the product, not a setup guide you can skip.

The METHOD

Four movements. The files stay on the Mac.

Folder

Open

Point Amethyst at the folder you already have. Wikilinks, aliases, headings and frontmatter tags are read as they are.

Constellations

Cluster

Louvain grouping pulls related notes together and names each constellation after its hub. The largest is violet. Colour can follow folder, tag, or age.

(In short)

Amethyst, in two lines

Amethyst is a notes app for Mac. It reads the markdown folder you already keep, including an Obsidian vault, and draws the links as a sky. The files stay on disk. The source is public on GitHub. There is no account and no telemetry.

The repository is public

There is no installer on this page. These three go where they say.
